HOUSING

Students at MTSO for weekend classes may stay in the newly renovated dorm at MTSO or at hotels close to the campus.  A limited number of dorm rooms are available for $40/night.  Weekend on-campus housing fee MUST BE PREPAID as room availability is limited and fluctuates each term.  Rooms will be assigned on a “first-paid, first-reserved” basis.  Housing refunds will be made to pre-paying students when on-campus housing limit is reached.  When on-campus housing is full, it will be noted in website ANNOUNCEMENTS.  During the two-week summer session, students may stay in the dormitories at MTSO (as available), for an additional fee.  More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Students are responsible for making their own hotel reservations and for paying hotel bills upon check-out. We provide a list of local hotels, some of which have reduced rates for COS students.  Contact the COS office for additional information.

Students at Spring Heights
stay at the campgrounds, and room costs are included in tuition.

Students in the Native American School
will be housed according to the plan of each class.

MEALS

MTSO provides meals in the Dining Hall. Meals are included with tuition for weekend terms; there is an additional charge for meals during two-week terms.  Spring Heights provides meals in the lodge and are included in tuition. The Native American School plan varies by course. Reservation for meals is made via the course registration form, which has a place to indicate any dietary limitations or requirements. At all locations, an additional fee will be charged for spouses and other family members.

WORSHIP AND SPIRITUAL FORMATION PROGRAM

At MTSO, Spiritual Formation is a unique component of COSSO for the purpose of nurturing the spiritual maturity of Church leaders in the Wesleyan tradition. Opportunities are available for communal worship, private prayer, holy communion, searching scripture, and participating in worship. While enrolled in COSSO, students are considered to be in covenant with God about these spiritual disciplines. During weekend or summer intensive courses, students are asked to sign-in for communal worship. This is for our records and for annual reports to GBHEM. Notes are made on student grade sheets about participation in Spiritual Formation opportunities from office records. Participation does not reflect a student's course performance.

For the Course of Study School community at the Spring Heights location in West Virginia, worship is celebrated every Sunday morning. Worship is celebrated in each class in the Native American School in Michigan.
