Welcome

WELCOME to the Course of Study School of Ohio (COSSO), located at Methodist Theological School in Ohio. COSSO is an educational program established by the Division of Ordained Ministry of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, United Methodist Church. Our regional program is supported by the Methodist Theological School in Ohio in cooperation with United Theological Seminary. In addition to our Delaware, Ohio location, we have two extensions – West Virginia Extension, and the Native American Extension in Michigan.

We are here to offer the required five-year course of study for licensed local pastors who are not attending seminary. Courses are held each year in four two-weekend sessions and a two-week summer intensive format. In addition to classes, our program also includes worship and other spiritual formation opportunities to enhance the pastors’ experiences.

We are pleased to work with local pastors who are discerning and who have answered the call of God to be in pastoral ministry. Our goal is to help persons receive quality education and skills so that they may serve God and the church with a solid foundation and integrity.
